President of  the Irish Dental Association

Eamon qualified from Dublin University in 1979. He practised in the U.K. until 1991 where he undertook a Master’s programme in Prosthetic Dentistry (dentures) in the Eastman Dental Hospital, London. On returning to Dublin, he took up practise in Molesworth House in the city centre.

Eamon is a part-time lecturer in the Dublin Dental University Hospital. He has lectured nationally and internationally on clinical and regulatory topics.

Eamon felt honoured to be elected by his colleagues to two terms on the Dental Council, the regulatory body who protect the interests of the public attending dental healthcare professionals. He was chair of the Auxiliary Dental Workers Committee in his first term, 2005 – 2010. He was elected to President of the Dental Council in his second term, 2010 – 2015.

Eamon is actively involved in his professional representative Association, the Irish Dental Association. Amongst his roles within the Association was to chair its Quality and Patient Safety Committee, 2009 – 2016. He remains a member of this Committee.

Continuing professional development is an integral part of his career in dentistry, refreshing and renewing his knowledge of the developments in the provision of dental healthcare.
