Dara Hughes

Dara graduated from Technological University of the Shannon Athlone campus in 2022. During her college studies she also became a qualified barista, and developed a keen interest in interacting with new people – which continues to this day and has also contributed to her desire to pursue a career in patient care.

She has had a real interest in Dental Nursing since receiving her own Orthodontic Treatment in 2018. Even as an extremely nervous patient, she noticed how the dental nurses went above and beyond and changed her perspective of surgeries and practices. They created a calm and relaxed feel every time she attended the clinic, and that extra effort and attention was what it took for her to know she wanted to pursue this career.

Outside of work, Dara is a keen soccer player, starting at age 10 playing with local club Clara Town before going on to join Willow Park in Athlone in 2020.
