Dr David Vard

B.Dent.Sc. B.A. (Mod Hons) Microbiol. Trinity 1992

For Dr. David Vard, dentistry is more than a profession - it is a family legacy and a lifelong passion for helping people. After graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 1992, David joined forces with his father, Ivor, to build Vard Dental into a highly respected, award-winning practice. Today, he brings that decades-long wealth of experience, warmth, and dedication to the team at Truly Dental Cherrywood.

David has built a stellar reputation across South Dublin for his incredibly gentle, family-friendly approach. If you are someone who feels anxious or fearful about visiting the dentist, you are in exceptionally safe hands; David is widely recognised for his unique ability to put nervous patients entirely at ease, transforming dental anxiety into a comfortable, stress-free experience.

His commitment to excellence is well-known in the Irish dental community. Not only has his outstanding care earned him numerous industry awards over the years, but he also spent many years teaching the next generation of dentists at the Dublin Dental Hospital. In fact, Truly Dental's founder, Dr. Mohammad Shirin, was one of the many students David mentored and inspired to achieve excellence.

Always looking toward the future of patient care, David is a strong advocate for eco-friendly dentistry, regularly updates his expertise through the Irish Dental Association, and stays at the forefront of modern cosmetic and general dental treatments.

Outside of the clinic, David is a proud Killiney native who now calls the beautiful seaside town of Greystones home. When he isn’t helping patients smile, you’ll likely find him refining his swing on the golf course or happily learning his way around the garden.

Known to his patients as Dr. David, he is absolutely delighted to welcome both familiar faces and new patients to Truly Dental Cherrywood, where he continues to provide top-tier, dental solutions and dental care.
