Dr Darren Hill

Dr Darren Hill works as a general dentist at Dame Street Dental Hospital, with particular interests in restorative dentistry, crowns and onlays, root canal treatments, and implant dentistry. He treats both adults and children and aims to provide high-quality, comprehensive care in a calm and supportive environment. He graduated his final year with distinction from Dundee Dental Hospital in 2018, completed his vocational training in Dumfries, and worked in NHS and private practice in Scotland before moving to Ireland in 2021.

Darren achieved the MJDF diploma in 2020 and maintains membership with the College of General Dentistry. He is currently enrolled on a Diploma in Implantology with Syntrain Academy (University of Greater Manchester) and is due to attend hands-on implant surgical training in Rio de Janeiro later in 2026. His continuing education includes courses in surgical crown lengthening, oral surgery, endodontics, advanced restorative techniques, occlusion, laser dentistry, dentures, composite bonding, orthodontics, and sleep dentistry, with a range of UK and Irish-based educators.

In practice, Darren’s approach is patient-centred, minimally invasive, and comprehensive. He places importance on clear communication, realistic treatment planning, and preserving natural tooth structure wherever possible. He is committed to ongoing learning and to delivering care that is both clinically sound and aligned with each patient’s needs and preferences.

Outside work, Darren enjoys strength training, running, and following football. He recently spent a year travelling, with seven months in South and Central America and four months in South East Asia. He has a basic level of Spanish and now lives in Ireland with his long-term partner.
